How Much Does SEO Cost in Singapore? A Practical Pricing Guide for SMEs
What SEO costs in Singapore, the four ways it is priced, what a monthly fee should buy, and how to compare quotes without being misled by the cheapest number.
What SEO costs in Singapore depends on how much work is done each month and how hard your market is to rank in, and most businesses pay it as a monthly retainer. A light retainer for a local business covers the essentials: technical SEO fixes, a well-kept Google Business Profile and a monthly report. A campaign in a crowded market adds regular content, deeper technical work and authority building, and costs more.
As a reference point, we publish our own price rather than quoting it after a sales call: SEO from S$500 to S$1,200 a month, month to month with 30 days’ notice. Other agencies price differently, so this guide explains the pricing models you will meet, what moves the number, and how to compare two quotes that look nothing alike.
How SEO is priced in Singapore
Most quotes use one of four models. Knowing which one you are looking at is the first step to comparing them fairly.
For most SMEs a monthly retainer is the practical choice. Rankings build over months, and a retainer pays for the steady technical fixes, content and authority work that a one-off project cannot. A project fee makes sense when you need something specific done once, such as an audit before rebuilding your site.
What drives the monthly fee
Three things move the number more than anything else.
How competitive your searches are. A clinic that wants to appear for searches in its own neighbourhood needs far less work than a business competing island-wide for a term where the pages already ranking have years of content and links behind them.
The condition of your website. Slow pages, indexing problems or thin service pages need fixing before new content can do its job. That work is front-loaded, so it shows up in the first months of a retainer.
How much is done each month. More pages optimised, more articles written and more authority built means more hours. This is the part of a quote you can scale to a budget, and the part worth reading most carefully.
What a monthly SEO fee should cover
Whatever the price, a credible retainer works on the same five areas. The difference between a cheap plan and an expensive one should be how much of each you get, not whether an area is missing.
If a quote cannot tell you what happens in each of these areas every month, you have nothing to compare it with.
What Webby SG charges for SEO
Our SEO pricing is published on our SEO services page. SEO runs from S$500 to S$1,200 a month, month to month with 30 days’ notice, and there is no annual lock-in.
The entry plan, from S$500 a month, is built for local service businesses and newer websites: getting indexed properly, fixing the basics and winning nearby searches. The middle plan adds steady content, technical work and authority building for established SMEs, and the top plan, up to S$1,200 a month, adds a heavier content programme for crowded markets such as renovation, healthcare, finance and legal. Local SEO is included in every plan rather than sold separately.
How to compare two SEO quotes
Put every quote through the same questions and the cheapest number often stops looking cheap.
What happens each month? Ask for the deliverables in writing: how many pages are optimised, how many articles are written, and what technical work is included.
Which searches will you target, and why? A good agency starts from the searches that bring enquiries, even when they have modest volume, rather than from the biggest numbers in a keyword tool.
Who owns the work? Your website, Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics accounts should be registered to your company, with the agency given access.
What does the price include? Check whether the figure is before or after GST, and whether content writing, links or reporting are charged on top.
How long is the commitment? Month-to-month terms keep an agency accountable. A long lock-in protects the agency, not you.
Warning signs in a cheap SEO quote
Very cheap SEO usually means very little work, or work that can harm your site. Templated reports, spun articles and bulk links can leave a site worse off than before, and cleaning that up costs more than doing the job properly the first time.
Be especially wary of guaranteed rankings. Google’s own guidance on hiring an SEO makes the point directly: no one can guarantee a top position, because Google decides who ranks.
Is SEO worth the cost?
For a business whose customers search before they buy, usually yes, provided the work targets searches that lead to enquiries and you give it time. Most of our clients see meaningful movement within three to six months, with results compounding after that.
It helps to compare it with paid search. Google Ads charges for every click, and the traffic stops when the budget does. SEO costs a set monthly fee, and the pages it improves keep bringing in visits after the work is done. Many SMEs run both: ads for enquiries this month, SEO for the months after.
Getting a quote you can compare
There is no single price for SEO in Singapore, because there is no single version of the work. Decide which searches matter to your business, ask every agency for the same written scope, and compare what you get for the money rather than the money alone.
